Firewood Chop March 2011
On a very cold and wet Saturday in March, the first event of 2011 also took place– a firewood chop delivering 50 loads of firewood across Hamilton.
A few dozen guys toughed it out to split, load and deliver firewood for families in need.
The firewood chop has gone from strength to strength. In late 2010, we were given the use of an empty yard in central Hamilton to store wood. Hamilton City Council was able to provide us with a reliable source of felled trees. The combination meant that not only could we provide firewood consistently; we were able to store logs and accumulate wood!
