Spring Streetworks 2011
An invitation; a beginning; the start of something!
Spring Streetworks was the first event under Streetworks Charitable Trust – after four years we decided the time was right to formally become a charity.
In line with new beginnings, Spring Streetworks focused intentionally on Streetworks’ core purpose – cultivating a culture of active faith. We are more than just an event and a whole heap of projects that are over and done within a day. We want to do more than renovate gardens; we want to revamp perspectives on community and serving. Our desire is to see a new culture emerge in Hamilton; a culture of community, compassion and togetherness. This focus was the inspiration behind more changes and all the decisions made in regards to Spring Streetworks!
In other changes, Spring Streetworks was the first event organised and coordinated by a newly formed Core Team (which like to refer to themselves at the hard-core team). This team increased the brainpower, time and energy that were invested into Spring Streetworks.
On September 30, after a year of trying, Streetworks was donated a shipping container for the firewood yard! The container meant that we were now able to safely store split wood and other donated items. It was in incredible timing, and has been such a great blessing.
